Folks also asked lots of questions about the entire property; which areas are to be developed by builders and which are part of the nature preserve. There were also lots of questions about where they could access the property and go for a walk there. Several people had read a report in the Verona Observer about the discovery of drums of an unknown substance having been left on the property and what was being done about that. They were assured that the Environmental Protection Agency had been notified and that the drums would be removed.

A flyer containing a map of the Hilltop Nature Preserve, the Hilltop Conservancy mission and value statements, it's website address, and a membership application was distributed. Also a bird watching and critter check list, a past hike report and a list of websites where information about wildlife native to this region is available. Eight people left their email addresses to be added to the Hilltop Conservancy emailing list. One gentleman, a hydrogeologist, offered his services, one woman offered to help with communication strategies, and the Verona Historical Society offered to help acquire bird boxes. In all, over a hundred people stopped by. According to our treasurer, several have become members. Great news!
