Ken Bogert attended a N.Caldwell board meeting to discuss access to the reservation in N.Caldwell. The access off Mountain Ave. on Courter Rd should not be an issue. The issues are with the proposed residential access points. There is a problem with the property lines at these points. It also seems the town does not want any signs to promote the reservation and attract people to the residential streets.

The latest update on Cedar Grove access is that the retaining wall remains at the cul-de-sac off of Doctors row. Charlie and Pat are going to try to get on the agenda of the next planning board meeting to discuss the issue.

Kurt gave an update on Verona and told us the mayor will cooperate with the conservancy regarding signs for the reservation. Kurt had also talked about possible parking possibilities at White Rock in Verona. This could be an ideal spot because it would not be such a steep hike up to the Hilltop.

Pat gave an update on trail development and showed the route of a new trail developed starting at the Verona Community Center heading north into the reservation. He showed that part of the trail passes through a wetland area and we may want to reroute that part of the trail to bypass the water.

The N.J Charitable Registration form was passed around to the members for their signatures. We must get all paying members of the conservancy to sign this form to register with the county.

Nominations are officially open for the executive officer positions for 2005. All nominations must be made by the next meeting.

Anne Stires volunteered to represent the conservancy for Verona’s Fair in the Square on Dec 4^th. The idea is to promote the conservancy and attract new members.

It was agreed by all to change the next meeting from Dec 22nd to Dec 15th.
