North Caldwell Council meeting of 7/25/06No topics concerning the hilltop were on the published agenda. I asked the council about an access road from Mountain Avenue. It seemed to me that several of the council members had differing views on what was in the plan, but the town engineer was the most definite about his answer. According to him, (and I think we already knew this) Sanatorium Road will end where the old gate currently is. There will be a new road into the new development from Mountain Avenue about 200 feet south of the creek (by the north end of Mountain Field). This new road will be paved, walkable, and have a sidewalk on one side. It will go through the new development and will end in a cul-de-sac. I also asked about an entrance to the "Green Acres" area from the new road. According to the town engineer there will be several entrances from this new road into the undeveloped sections of the hilltop, as well as an entrance from Mountain Ave Field. This last part -- entrance from Mountain Ave Field -- I don't understand since I thought there would be houses there, but that's what was said last night. Personally, I don't think the members of the council understood the gist or the importance of my questions, but that's just my impression.
