Learn More About Invasive Plants

May 26, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Hello everyone:  last September, we held an Invasive Plant Workshop in the Hilltop Reservation that introduced non-native species, discussed the threat they pose to our natural spaces, and described methods for controlling them.
Essex County and the NJ Invasive Species Strike Team have agreed to offer another workshop this spring, Sunday May 26th, from 10am-1pm.  We’ll first have a presentation and discussion at the Cedar Grove Community Center (199 Fairview Avenue in Cedar Grove), then move to an outdoor demonstration in the Hilltop Reservation (parking near Freedom Field on White Rock Road in Verona).  If you happen to be a Master Gardener, this workshop also counts for 3 CEUs in the MG program.

Click here to learn more about the workshop, as well as the instructor Beth Craighead of the NJISST

Please reply to this email and let me know if you want to attend this workshop?  Attendance is limited to 20, and it will be “first come first served” — so if you want to learn more about invasive plants, you need to confirm with me via email by end of day Wednesday, May 22nd.

Thank you.

Theresa Trapp, Treasurer
