Volunteers: More pond site brush clearing

Saturday & Sunday, April 11 & 12, 10:30am – 12noon

Hi again Hilltoppers!  Check out the progress we’re making in the photo below — vroom, vroom!

Let’s do this again!  We’ll be cutting branches, stacking logs and clearing more brush at the Prisoners Pond forest regeneration site this-coming weekend — Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12, from 10:30am to 12noon.  All are welcome, teens and up (it’s a great way to knock off some community / environmental service hours).  It’s simple work, but be prepared to get dirty.  I’ll have tools and some extra gloves, but if you have them, bring loppers and / or pruning saws, work / gardening gloves, and of course sturdy shoes and drinking water.

The work location is is the same as before — in the woods very near the equipment sheds on the eastern side of Verona’s Freedom Field.  If driving, turn north onto White Rock Road, and park in one of the two ballfield parking lots.  Then walk east along the Freedom Field service driveway to the sheds (downhill).  If you’re already familiar with Verona streets, it might even be easier / less of a walk to park along Linn Drive near Veterans Field and just enter the Hilltop via the footbridge and trail near the 3rd baseline, then walk north / uphill from there to the site.

Maybe even “the Cavalry” will do a drive-by??

Please text me in advance so I know to expect you.
