Hello again Hilltoppers: the forecast this-coming Saturday and Sunday looks good, so we’re doing this again!!
As before, we’ll be cutting branches, stacking logs and clearing brush at the Prisoners Pond forest regeneration site this-coming weekend — Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31, from 10:30am to 12noon. All are welcome, teens and up. I’ll have tools and extra gloves, but if you have them, please bring loppers and / or pruning saws, work / gardening gloves, and of course sturdy shoes and drinking water.The work location is is the same as before — in the woods very near the equipment sheds on the eastern side of Verona’s Freedom Field. If driving, turn north onto White Rock Road, and park in one of the two ballfield parking lots. Then walk east along the Freedom Field service driveway to the sheds (downhill). If you’re already familiar with Verona streets, it might even be easier / less of a walk to park along Linn Drive near Veterans Field and just enter the Hilltop via the footbridge and trail near the 3rd baseline, then walk north / uphill from there to the site.
